Predictably, the “Supreme Team” came out on top, winning 118-78. The game belonged to Deron Williams who was so on fire, he nearly burnt down Manchester Arena!
Luol Deng played well for Great Britain, leading them with 25 points.
2012 Number 1 Draft Pick Anthony Davis finished the game solidly, picking up 11pts, predominately in Garbage Time (arguably, the entire game could be considered garbage time). But he struggled early on, being outplayed on both ends of the floor by Pops Mensah-Bonsu & Robert Archibald. It will be interesting to see if this may be a sign of things to come when the NBA season starts later on this year.
For the Aussie Fans, there’s even a cameo from Socceroos legend Harry Kewell & party-boy English Rugby player Danny Cipriani. If you understand Cipriani’s background, you’ll get a kick out of them telling the story of how they became friends.
Check it out, the game gives some insights into how this USA rotation may look during the Olympics…
