‘Inside Biz’ reported today that Virginia Beach is making a push to bring the Sacramento Kings to their fair city.
Virginia Beach is currently the 3rd largest Metropolitan Area in the United States but it seems like a bit of a strange choice for an NBA team to re-locate to. You’d expect the Maloof’s to want to go to a city that could complement their business interests or help them grow their empire…
There are other options that the Maloof’s should think about. So naturally, #believethehype have decided to compile 5 options for the ‘think tank’.
- Vancouver – known as the ‘Gateway to the Pacific Rim’, Vancouver is one of North America’s major trade centres to Asia. It’s also a rich sports town & putting an NBA team there, with the right people running it, would be successful.
- Seattle – well, duh.
- Las Vegas – The Maloof’s basically own Las Vegas. If the NBA would come around & allow them to have a team there, the Kings would have been in the city years ago.
- Europe – Adam Silver has stated that the NBA are planning on creating a Conference in Europe in the next 10-20 years. Why not put the Kings there now? London, Madrid, Paris, Moscow, Rome & Berlin are bigger markets than the majority of the current NBA cities. Including Sacramento.
- Moron Mountain – Basketball has been huge on Moron Mountain ever since the amazing exhibition game between The Monstars & The Tune Squad. Moron Mountain’s Dictator, Swackhammer is desperate to get some star-power to his flailing planet. This would be a logical move. They have the infrastructure & a high speed rocket transport system between there & Earth so let’s make it happen…
Logically, Seattle seems like the best option, they are desperate to have NBA Basketball back in their city… But the more I think about it, the more appealing Moron Mountain seems. There are a number of sporting leagues that are across many different countries & continents. But how could the NBA turn down the opportunity to be the first sporting league that places a team in outer space!
Get it done Maloofs.
