A round-up of news featuring our top Aussie ballers.

* Andrew Bogut talks about his injury in his latest blog for NBA Australia.

Matthew Dellavedova was in attendance for the Collingwood vs. Carlton clash at the MCG on Friday.

* Ben Simmons was the standout in the first session of the Nike Elite Youth Basketball League in Sacramento. MaxPreps named him in their ‘Starting Five’ as a top performer in the tournament.

* MaxPreps.com with a big feature on Ben Simmons (with video footage).

* CBSSports.com says Ben Simmons should be the No. 1 ranked player for the Class of 2015.

Guys, I know it’s an early call, but there’s a real possibility that Ben Simmons will be in play for the first pick in the 2016 NBA Draft (or 2017, if Adam Silver is successful in raising the age limit). He may be the best talent that we’ve ever produced, and that’s saying something considering that Dante Exum will likely be a top 5 pick in this year’s draft, and Andrew Bogut went No. 1 in 2005. Simmons is the real deal.

* Patty Mills put up some career numbers in Game 4 against the Mavs.

* ‘Aussie Steve’ Adams strikes again, this time getting Z-Bo suspended for Game 7. As I said in a previous Aussie Update: “The guy has an uncanny ability to piss people off (and then show no emotion when they come at him to retaliate), which, if you think about it, is a pretty rare skill in today’s NBA.”

* Thon Maker is already being pursued by the elite college programs (Louisville and Kentucky, among others) for the Class of 2016.

* Roy Ward from The Age chronicles Matthew Dellavedova’s impressive first season in the NBA.

* Dante Exum has an eye towards the world championships in Spain later this year.

* Houston rookie Troy Daniels was close to accepting an offer to play in the NBL last year with the Perth Wildcats.
